1. Renter and Driver Requirements

All renters and drivers must be at least 23 years old and hold a valid driver's license for a minimum of one year. An international driving permit is required for licenses not in Roman script. A valid passport or ID card must also be presented at the time of rental.

2. Vehicle Use

The rental vehicle shall not be used for any illegal purpose, for racing or stunt driving, to tow any vehicle or trailer, or to transport more passengers or property than it is designed for. Off-road driving is strictly prohibited and will result in a significant penalty and liability for any damages.

3. Insurance and Liability

All our vehicles come with mandatory third-party liability insurance as required by Curaçao law. A Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is included, which reduces the renter's financial responsibility for damage to the vehicle. A deductible (excess) applies, which will be blocked on the renter's credit card as a security deposit. The deposit amount varies by car category. Full insurance (Super CDW) to reduce the deductible is available for purchase at an additional cost. The renter is fully liable for any damages caused by negligence, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or violation of the terms of this agreement.

4. Fuel Policy

The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel as at the start of the rental. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, a refueling charge will be applied, which includes the cost of the missing fuel plus a service fee.

5. Payment and Deposits

A valid credit card in the main driver's name is required for the security deposit. The estimated cost of the rental and any additional charges are payable at the start of the rental. We accept major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard). Debit cards and cash are not accepted for the security deposit.

6. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the scheduled pick-up time are free of charge. Cancellations made within 48 hours of pick-up may be subject to a cancellation fee equivalent to one day's rental. No-shows will be charged the full amount of the rental.

7. Accidents and Breakdowns

In the event of an accident, the renter must immediately contact Ideal Car Rental and the local police (Curaçao Road Services). The renter must not leave the scene of the accident before a police report is completed. In case of a breakdown, please contact our 24/7 roadside assistance.
